What Have You Decided?

Did you know I was a Pastor’s wife my whole marriage? Yep. Twenty years. Did you know I’m not anymore? I mean, I am still a wife, and to the same husband. He is just no longer a Pastor. This is a “pivot” that had nothing to do with 2020. Our ending happened in 2019.

While 2020 was a year of distress for so many, it was development for Marcus and I. We had completed a season as finishers and what was next was lurking in the wait. We had moved into new and uncomfortable things with incredible focus on what life could be. Finding “church” was never anything either of us had done. We had been assigned to one our entire lives. And now with four fragile kids in tow, I had some ideals. So one step in front of the other, like up a flight of stairs, we ventured out week after week to new churches. Unknown, outdoors, fully masked and very aware of the challenges each church we visited faced and uncertain we would find a place to connect. Every week we experienced God. Seek and you will find. But it wasn’t until one full year later that God spoke so clearly. And it was what my heart longed for most. This past Sunday solidified our new faith community. We have decided the church we will participate in and attend.

In one way or another we are all facing a transition. Re-entering the world in real life and in person after a year of distance can present uncomfortable dynamics and disappointment of expectation. There is a decision we must make in the transition.

DON’T GIVE UP ON GOD.

Transitioning to your dream can feel like a low point. It’s never easy. You can’t do it. But He can. When you decide you will not give up and kill off all other options you will experience the promise of Ephesians 3:20 fulfilled in your life.

Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination![a] He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you.

What do you desire?

What is in your heart is in the heart of God. And God is not a “no-show.” He will deliver as you listen to Him and take your next step up life’s flight of stairs–one foot in front of the other.

I’d love to help you navigate your journey and be part of the discovery of what’s next in your life.
